To all my fellow Clinical Hypnotherapists—and to the clients whose lives have been positively changed through hypnosis—happy World Hypnosis Day!

I have to say, I love the internet. We now have access to an endless world of information (yes, some of it questionable). Remember when research meant pulling out encyclopedias or heading to the library to scroll through microfiche? We’ve come a long way.

And apparently, now we have days for everything. Case in point: World Hypnosis Day is celebrated on January 4, and there’s also Health and Happiness with Hypnosis Day on July 25. I didn’t even know these existed—but you can be sure I’ll be planning something special for July 25!

My own journey with hypnosis began over 40 years ago, when I quit smoking cigarettes by seeing a hypnotherapist. At the time, I had been smoking for 22 years and was up to three packs a day. That experience was life-changing. Combined with my BA in Psychology with a focus on behavior modification, it inspired me to become a Clinical Hypnotherapist myself.

Today, I specialize in cognitive and behavioral change, goal setting, and sexual enhancement. You can learn more about my background and approach here: https://www.drjoanirvine.com/about-4
