The New York Times recently published an article: Hypnotherapy Is Praised by Celebrities. Does It Work?  (https://tinyurl.com/ycxhhaav)

“Once considered a fringe practice, hypnotherapy is entering the mainstream, being offered at spas and even administered to treat depression and addiction. “

I’ve always been ahead of the ‘curve.’

I have a BA in Psychology from the University of Kansas, where my studies focused primarily on behavior modification. During the 1960s, behavior modification was emerging as a major clinical and experimental focus in psychology, emphasizing observable and measurable behavior rather than the more abstract theories of traditional psychoanalysis.

My interest in the practical application of behavior change became personal when I used hypnosis to successfully stop smoking in the 1980s. That experience led me to pursue a Doctor of Clinical Hypnotherapy degree in 1990s; my thesis was Using Hypnotherapy for Sexual Enhancement. For me, hypnotherapy was a natural extension of my background in behavior modification and my interest in helping people create meaningful, lasting behavioral change.

Those who attend the ‘Ignite Your Resilience Turning Challenges into Strength and Possibilities’ workshop at the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce Women’s Conference will leave with techniques to make positive change in their lives.
