Your health, sexuality and pleasure don’t have an expiration date.

I’m honored to welcome Dr. Somi Javaid, founder of HerMD, to Your Best Life on the HealthyLife.Net Radio Network for a candid conversation about women’s health, menopause, HRT, sexual health, libido, orgasm and pleasure.

Our conversation was inspired by Sex in Menopause, the documentary that brought us together. The film features nine women sharing their personal experiences and perspectives, opening an important conversation about sexuality during and after menopause—and challenging the idea that sexual pleasure has an expiration date.

Dr. Somi and I will explore what women really need to know about HRT, including estrogen, progesterone and testosterone, individualized treatment, vaginal estrogen and urinary health, and options for women who cannot or choose not to use HRT. We’ll also discuss the questions many women are asking as menopause and hormone therapy receive increasing attention.

But this conversation goes beyond hormones.

We’ll look at sexual health through the biopsychosocial model:

🔹 Biological — the body: hormones, medications, illness, pain and physical changes.

🔹 Psychological — the mind: stress, emotions, confidence, body image and our relationship with ourselves.

🔹 Social & relational — your life: partners, relationships, family, work and the circumstances in which we live.

We’ll talk openly about libido, vaginal health, orgasm, self-pleasure, partnered sex and whether women can become more sexually responsive as they better understand their bodies.

As a Doctor of Clinical Hypnotherapy, whose thesis was Using Hypnosis for Sexual Enhancement, women's sexuality has been central to my work for decades. I’ll also share some of my own experience and ask Dr. Somi about an issue that deserves much more attention: sexual function after gynecological surgery.

Most importantly, I want women—from their 30s through their 70s, 80s and beyond—to hear this: Getting older does not mean your sexual life is over.

We deserve information. We deserve to ask questions. And we deserve to continue pursuing health, intimacy, connection and pleasure at every stage of life.

Join me and Dr. Somi Javaid on September 23 at 2 PM PT on Your Best Life.

We’ll also have opportunities to win a Magic Wand vibrator and tickets to Luminescence, featuring keynote speaker Maria Shriver.
